Let’s be honest: Playing Truth or Dare on WhatsApp can get old pretty fast. You ask the same questions, get the same dares, and half the time, someone chickens out.
If you’re looking for something new to keep your chats fun, this list is for you. Here are 15 WhatsApp games that are actually fun, easy to play, and way better than Truth or Dare.
Rapid Fire
This one is all about speed. One person asks five quick questions, and the other has to answer them in five seconds or less per question. No time to think too hard, so the answers can get hilarious.
Example: “What’s your favorite food? Last song you listened to? Something that annoys you? A place you want to visit? Your nickname as a kid?”
This or That
Simple but addictive. You send a list of options, and your friend chooses one from each pair.
Example: “Pizza or Burger? Cats or Dogs? Summer or Winter? Text or Call? Movies or Series?”
It’s a fun way to learn random things about someone without it getting awkward.
Emoji Story Challenge
This one is perfect if you like puzzles. One person sends a bunch of emojis that tell a story, and the other person has to guess what it means.
Example: 🚗🚒🏫📄👨💼❌📅 (Someone missed their job interview because of traffic.)
It gets even better if you make it personal or funny.
Number Game
Tell your friend to pick a number between 1 and 20. Each number has a question or mini-challenge you’ve prepared.
Example: 1 – Sing a line from your favorite song. 5 – Share the last photo in your gallery. 10 – Say something in a foreign language.
You can make the questions silly, sweet, or weird—whatever matches your vibe.
Guess the Song
Pick a few lyrics from a song and send them without mentioning the song title. The other person has to guess the name. If it’s too hard, you can give the artist’s name as a hint. It’s just for fun—no pressure!
Bonus round: Use only emojis to describe a song.
Example: 🚕🚀✨ might mean “Fast Car” or any travel-themed song.
For Burna Boy’s song “Update,” you could use: ⬆️📆
Who’s Most Likely To?
This one works best in group chats. One person throws out a scenario, and everyone votes or tags who fits it best.
Example: “Who’s most likely to fall asleep during a movie?” or “Who’s most likely to text their ex?”
You’ll probably get called out, but that’s half the fun.

Would You Rather
You give two tricky choices and ask your friend to pick one. They can’t say “both” or “neither.”
Example: “Would you rather have free Wi-Fi forever or free food forever?” or “Would you rather always be 10 minutes late or 20 minutes early?”
It’s fun because it makes people really think (and sometimes squirm).
Typing Race
This is a fast-paced challenge. You send a long sentence or paragraph. Both players race to type it out as quickly (and correctly) as possible. No copy-pasting allowed.
Example: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog while sipping bubble tea at a birthday party.”
It’s way harder than it sounds.
Alphabet Game
Pick a topic like fruits, countries, or movies. Each person takes turns naming something from that category starting with the next letter of the alphabet.
Example: If the topic is countries: A – Argentina B – Brazil C – Canada
And so on. Miss a letter? You’re out.
Fake News
You send three made-up news headlines. One of them is actually true. The other person has to guess which one.
Example:
- “Man builds rocket to find edge of the Earth.”
- “Goat elected mayor of a village.”
- “Scientists teach parrots to order pizza.”
The real one? The goat. Yep, that really happened.
Photo Scavenger Hunt
You send a list of items or themes, and your friend has to reply with photos from around their home.
Example: “Send me a photo of something red, something round, and something that makes you smile.”
You can even turn it into a timed challenge.
Truth in Emojis
Ask your friend a question, but they can only answer using emojis. You then try to decode what they’re saying.
Example: Question: “How was your weekend?” Answer: 🎉🎧🎤🥴 (Party, music, karaoke, and hangover)
It’s a creative way to get people talking without using actual words.

20 Questions (WhatsApp Edition)
Think of something or someone (a celeb, an object, a character). The other person gets 20 yes/no questions to figure out what it is.
Example: “Is it a person?” “Are they alive?” “Are they from a movie?”
If they guess it before 20 questions, they win. If not, you reveal the answer.
One Word Story
Each person adds one word to build a story. No planning ahead. Just keep it going.
Example: Person 1: “Once” Person 2: “upon” Person 1: “a” Person 2: “time” …and so on.
It usually turns silly really fast, and that’s the fun part.
Guess the Voice Note
Record yourself saying something weird or mimicking a sound. Distort your voice using a filter or just speak in a funny way. Send it, and let the other person guess what it is.
Example: A barking noise, a quote from a movie, or a song lyric said in a robot voice.
These games aren’t just fun—they keep conversations going and help you connect with your friends in new ways. Whether you’re bored, trying to bond, or just want to laugh, ditch Truth or Dare and give these a shot. No pressure, no awkward moments—just good vibes and lots of laughs.
So, which one are you playing first?
